Wireless network is the enhanced form of network where users can connect to each other via signals. There is no need to wires for it, as they just need Wi-Fi interface in their system to make connection. The use of wireless network is increasing these days as people can easily connect to the network and can transmit information. The information in wireless mode is sent through electromagnetic waves that works like radio waves. Wireless network works at the physical layer of the network model.

Wireless Network Troubleshooting Tips

Since the birth of network wireless connection, people are now moving to network connection. If you want to work with wireless network, you need to buy a laptop that has the Wi-Fi interface because you can take laptop anywhere and make a connection. In addition, you can buy iPhone or other type of hand held devices integrated with wireless technology that provides you much ease of processing your office task anywhere you like. In wireless network, there is no any issue related to common network troubleshooting. Here, I would like to share some tips that will help you how to use wireless connection in a smooth way.

First, you need to check whether all wires are properly plugged to the wireless router. Get surety that the power cord of the wireless modem is supplying power properly. Have a look on the power light of the modem or router whether they are on or not. Sometimes, connection is not established because network cable attached with router is connected in an undone mode.

There is also need to check about the status of wireless adaptor whether it is on or the lights are on in your laptop. In some laptops, you will fine red button to enable wireless connection. First you need to check the status of network adaptor that you can do by going to the device manager option. In case of working with USB adapter or PCMCIA, there is need of network configuration by reinserting it.

If you are using cordless phones, it can also disconnect to wireless connection. It is better to use such phones that have compatibility with your network. If you reboot your router, it will resolve this problem easily. A simple and clear up connection between two network will prove effective and help you to run your applications any time.

Sometimes connection is not established when you install wrong driver in your wireless adaptor. It will cause many problems like network adaptor will not function properly and make the network speed slow. It will also affect the strength of the signals and create deteriorate problems in your network. Usually normal speed of wireless network signals is 2.4 GHz. You can get stable speed if you keep your device like phones or microware equipment 1 km away from the target access point. You can also us diagnostic utility to monitor the strength of your wireless signals that will inform your about the status of your wireless network signals. There are some healthy tips that will work in an effective way for the successful set up of wireless connection.

The use of network devices is essential for efficient communication over network. In this article, I would like to discuss some network devices that are helpful to mediate date in a network. These networking devices are also knows as network equipment or inter working unit. These devices work in form of unit where destination is called host or date terminal.

OSI Model

Communication on network is not possible without using the architecture of OSI model. The complete name of OSI model is Open System Interconnection Reference Model. It works in form of layered based structure along with network protocol design. It divides network structure into seven layers working from top to bottom. These layers are the Application, Session, Presentation, Network, Data Link, Transport, and Physical Layers. Here I would like to discuss overview of some network devices used in the protocol network design.

Networking Devices:

Gateway: Gateway is the important network node that interacts with such users who perform communication process via different protocols. It is operated on the fourth layer of network model that supports that task of communication to the seventh layer.

Router: It is an essential network device that informs about the network layer where data is being sent. It does have any link with protocols related to network communication operated at the third layer.

Bridge: It is the device that usually connects multiple segment of network to the data link layer.

Switch: It is also an essential network device that connects to certain segments and lines of other network. The basic purpose of switch is to spilt network traffic to different destinations. In addition, switch works on the second layer.

Hub: The hub connects the various segment of Ethernet and performs the role of central point for these segments. With the use of the hub, you can attach your network device to various networks for communication. However, only one computer can transmit the message at a time. The performance of hub is compared based on network topology that gives you basic model structure among other network server. It also gives you a bandwidth range that is shared with other objects and work more efficiently than switches. Hubs give you a dedicated set up between different nodes.

Repeater: The Repeater is usually used to regenerate or amplify signals when you are setting network setup. It works on the first layer of OSI model.

Proxy: It is the service provided by computer network that permits clients to make communication indirectly to other network service providers for services.

Firewall: It is the piece of hardware that prevents communicates from unauthorized source and save your computer from the attack of hackers.

Hardware for dial up or established network connections

Network Card: It is the type of computer hardware that permits attached computer to communicate in form of network.

Modem: It is a network device that converts analog signals to digital information accepted by computer and also demodulates a carrier signal to transmit information. It makes the communication process possible from one computer to another.

Nowadays there is a different style that life has adopted to be in touch with the people we love and with those we are supposed to be in contact with. This is made possible with the internet facilities round the globe. The internet connection is further refined with the wireless networking for a broad range of connectivity in any area. It is seen that on computers now other devices are also used for the wireless networks. The wireless network refers to the connectivity of computers through wireless means. There are three main types of wireless connections.

First is the Wireless PAN that refers to the wireless personal area network. It offers every one to share the data without even internet connection to other computer software. The most common example of the WPAN is the Bluetooth and infrared in the computers. Other than this another important and locally used wireless network type is the WLAN. It refers to the wireless local area network.

In this type of the wireless connection the data is shared from computer to other computers in a small office or home. In different organizations LAN is used to share all data under one shade. The very next type is the WWAN. It is meant for wireless wide area network that is the connectivity of people in one area to the people living in another part of the globe. This is usually used with the help of internet round the globe.

In the cellular phones the GSM is also made by another wireless networking system that is called the WMAN. It is the metropolitan area network.

One can find different advantages of the wireless networking round the globe. The first and the foremost advantage is that it has shortened the distances that people had in their areas and round the globe. Other than this it has helped in speedy and fast networking that has allowed more comprehensive and easy data and information sharing in any part of the world.

The other very important fact is that one can have cheap and affordable connectivity in any place. The wireless connectivity in the cellular phones with advanced features has allowed people to share and use the information with no charges and no delay to be delivered. Every person in this world is getting benefit from these sources in one or the other.
