IP Over DWDM
These days, internet is emerging as the universal telecommunication mode. IP over DWDM is considered as one of the most effective architecture for new internet. The intense demands of growing bandwidth have brought forth the high quality broadband services. To satisfy, the increasing demand of bandwidth, optical networks and WDM offer a good opportunity of using unlimited bandwidth. While, in other ways, many end users are using TCP/IP communication network but the use of IP over DWM network has brought a combination of unlimited communication networks.
DWDM is called defense wave length division multiplexing that works on the servers of the optical fibers in form of the underlying carriers for the optical networks. The concept of loss control, optical fiber transmission, network topology, and synchronization perform effective role in the throughput of network.
IP over DWDM are very effective where there is need of end to end services. The completion of optical network needs the implementation of various features like error correction and detection, network management, fault tolerance, routing, and switching. The implementation of these features use a sonnet interface for proper functioning.
IP over DWDM links directly to 2.5 Gbps in form of optical interfaces over IP routers. The major benefit of such set up is that it eliminates the need of SDH equipment. When you select the DWDM, the IP backbone is starting to move from the SDH Mbps and GPS environment. In this way, it combines the feature of GTS non overlooking policy that permits the fast up gradation connection for the customer.

Error Detection
The task of error checking is implemented at any of the SONET equipment including sonnet regenerator, DWDM transponder, sonnet framing system and interface card supporting. If it gets non sonnet data, it makes the system a bit complex. The transmission of signal over DWDM increases the protocol transparency and hampers error checking of bits.
Fault Tolerance
A backbone network should have ability to support the survivability schemes of optical network like restoration and protection of switches. The establishment of such optical network creates the way of giving optical network protection as WDMS is quite flexible to accommodate advanced protection for optical layer switching.
Wavelength Routing
The main and valuable feature of optical network is to perform the task of wave length routing. DWDM can easily make connection with the IP routers to establish a path between two sources. In the regard, routers change the used network topology that is assumed by all routers working in the network.

There is big problem in analog transmission that IP over DWDM network handles the use of proprietary solutions. It gives the speed of 100 Gbps. In fact, DWDM is the attractive reality that has achieved the large scale progress in it. IP over DWDM is the right solution for error free transmission over 20,000 kms speed without SONET regeneration.
